MSci Maths graduate with years of tutoring experience at all levels

I have a masters degree in Maths (1st) from Birmingham Uni and have been tutoring fairly continuously for nearly 10 years now both paid and as a volunteer, and it is something I deeply enjoy.

I have had successful outcomes with over 20 students aged-but I would be fully confident with someone who needed guidance on first or second year university maths also. My past students have been a mix of those going for top grades / UKMT Maths Challenge and those who need support to keep on track.

I am very happy to be flexible with structure, but I have built up a good history of lesson plans based around the curriculum that focus towards providing a true understanding of each concept. Of course, I will pivot sessions towards exam prep whenever this is necessary. Generally I look to write bespoke problems for a student to work on between sessions, but I understand that workloads for young people can be very challenging and this is not necessary.

I really pride myself in my ability to engage learners, and I feel that the fact that I have never had a student fail to hit their target justifies my approach.
