Experienced as a teacher over decades in over a dozen countries, I am now based in London. I deliver online lessons one-to-one on a dialogue basis, listening closely to the student's needs, and preparing custom materials to meet those needs.
Active learning and participation are a 'must', and I make the lessons lively and memorable, sharing my fascination for my subject. I have huge numbers of effective visual aids to reinforce the key concepts, and I will devise new ones as needed. I normally set and mark homework tasks, so as to prepare students effectively for the kinds of questions they will meet in exams.
I do expect some additional study in between our lessons, and I have a huge supply of past exams and other assignments to guide the students' work and help them make swift, effective progress in their learning.
Kind and encouraging, I always praise positively - and my students say they enjoy my classes enormously. Together with the young learner, I endeavour to share some of the excitement and fascination for the current 'Golden Age' of Biology. I love my subject, and I hope they will too!
