Advert description
Hi, I'm Mikey,
I enjoy Formula 1 and other forms of motorsport, as well as reading fantasy novels and learning Japanese.
I have a degree in mechanical engineering and am working towards another in environmental sciences. I have three years' experience teaching maths and further maths in a classroom environment, but am now stepping away from that to focus on my studies.
I do however, still have a lot of love for teaching and passing knowledge onto the next generation. I am of the firm belief that a good grasp of maths is essential for every career path, and that's why I make it my mission to enable as many students as possible to pass the GCSE. As a plus, it can also be quite fun!
Lessons usually last one hour, though can be from 30 mins to two hours to suit the needs of the student. They are held on Microsoft Teams and consist of a selection of pre-prepared questions on topics to match the student's needs, as well as on-the-fly adaptations to address misconceptions. The first session will be run slightly differently, more of an opportunity for the student and myself to understand each other's needs and how sessions will run and assess their knowledge of maths.
Lessons are designed for KS3/4 students as well as anyone else wishing to obtain a GCSE in maths or further maths. I have three years of experience teaching maths and further maths in classrooms from year 7 to year 11 across a range of abilities from aiming for grade 4 to grade 9.
