Advert description
I am a patient, enthusiastic, and culturally aware Mandarin tutor. My lessons are mainly aimed at primary school children (e.g., ages 6–12) and adults (e.g., beginners or intermediate learners). For children, I focus on making learning fun and interactive through games, stories, and creative activities. For adults, I emphasise practical conversation, pronunciation, and real-life language use, while also introducing Chinese culture and customs to make learning more meaningful.
Previous Chinese tutoring experience in China – I worked as a private Chinese tutor, helping students improve their speaking, listening, and writing skills.
Summer school teaching – I taught summer classes, where I planned lessons, managed group activities, and kept students engaged.
Art Teacher at Shanghai Children’s Art Center – I delivered daily classes to young learners, designed themed workshops, and built strong parent-teacher communication. I was awarded "Most Popular Teacher" and "Summer Enrollment Champion".
Teacher Qualification Certificate (Junior School level) – This certifies my formal training in teaching methods, classroom management, and student assessment.
Cross-cultural experience – As a co-planner at the Confucius Institute (University of Nottingham), I organised Chinese cultural events (e.g., Dragon Boat Festival, Hanfu Day), which helps me explain Chinese language in a culturally sensitive way to non-native speakers.
Language skills – Native Mandarin speaker with clear pronunciation; English fluent (IELTS/PTE).
