Advert description
My teaching style is student-led, flexible, and encouraging. I believe that everyone learns differently, and my priority is to adapt to each individual’s goals, pace, and preferred learning style – whether that's through reading music, learning by ear, visual patterns, or a blend of approaches. I strive to make every lesson inspiring, supportive, and musically tailored to each student.
I have experience teaching both classical and contemporary styles, guiding students through either the ABRSM or Trinity Rock & Pop exams throughout my time teaching. I don’t push exams, however, and I am always happy to adapt to alternative teaching preferences. As an alternative, I have taught students by ear, to develop foundational skills in jazz and blues, helped students to learn their favourite songs, explore improvisation and composition, and to work with music technology and DAW systems.
I also have experience teaching neurodivergent students, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I take great care to create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment. I understand that every student processes information differently, and I work closely with each individual to find teaching methods that suit their needs - whether that’s through visual aids, clear routines, flexible pacing, or sensory-aware strategies. By being patient, empathetic, and responsive, I aim to build a trusting and encouraging environment that allows all my students to thrive musically.
