Advert description
Studying Psychology can be fascinating, but it can also feel overwhelming—especially when balancing essays, exams, research projects, and day-to-day pressures. Studying English Language can be similar, especially at both GCSE and A-Level. I help students make sense of complex topics, structure their work confidently, and develop individual strategies to stay focused, organised, and motivated. My aim is not just to improve academic performance, but to help students feel capable, supported, and empowered in their learning journey.
I am a Trainee Clinical Psychologist at the University of Oxford, training across NHS mental health services and completing research projects on autism, ADHD, and adult mental health. I also hold an MSc in Psychological Research Methods (Distinction) and a BSc in Psychology, with my research published in a peer-reviewed journal. This combination of clinical and academic experience allows me to bring both real-world insight and evidence-based understanding to my tutoring. I have an A* in English at GCSE level, and an A in A-Level English.
Beyond academic teaching I have experience supporting individuals with mental health difficulties, neurodivergent needs, and attention or organisation challenges. I understand the impact that anxiety, ADHD, or stress can have on learning, and I work with students to develop their own practical strategies to manage these challenges. After all, everybody is different! Drawing on both my clinical training and personal understanding of neurodivergent learning styles, I help students build confidence, maintain focus, and approach their studies more effectively.
I offer lessons tailored to GCSE, A-Level, and undergraduate students, as well as dissertations and research projects. Sessions are interactive and personalised: we combine clear explanations, real-world examples, and hands-on exercises to make concepts stick. I also provide guidance on essay writing, exam preparation, and research methods, ensuring students leave sessions with both understanding and practical tools they can apply independently.
Above all, my approach is friendly, patient, and non-judgemental. I aim to create a learning space where students feel understood, capable, and supported—not just academically, but personally. I love helping students gain confidence in Psychology, achieve their goals, and see what they’re truly capable
