Maths, phonics and English tutor for primary school aged children

As a dedicated primary school tutor, I bring the professional expertise of a qualified teacher with a PGCE and a strong foundation in pedagogy to every learning session. My approach is rooted in evidence‑based teaching practices, ensuring that each child receives personalised, engaging, and developmentally appropriate support. I understand how children learn, how to break down complex ideas into accessible steps, and how to build confidence through structured progression and positive reinforcement.

With experience across Key Stages 1 and 2, I tailor my tutoring to meet the unique needs of each learner—whether they require targeted intervention, stretch and challenge, or support with core subjects such as reading, writing, and mathematics. My sessions are designed to be interactive and enjoyable, fostering curiosity and resilience while strengthening essential skills.

I draw on a wide range of pedagogical techniques, including scaffolding, modelling, retrieval practice, and multisensory learning, to create lessons that are both effective and engaging. I also incorporate elements of inclusive practice, ensuring that children with diverse learning needs feel supported and empowered. I am available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.
