I provide online english and maths lessons to primary school pupils who are raring to go. I enjoy finding new ways to teach

Advert description
I like to tailor my tutoring to the pupil, but most of the time, I find that diagrams or silly songs help with younger children. I want to keep my lessons as engaging as possible so it ends up as more of a conversation as compared to a lecture.
Zara in a nutshell
My lessons are tailored carefully to meet the individual needs of each student, as every learner has a unique way of understanding and engaging with mathematics.

My lessons are tailored carefully to meet the individual needs of each student, as every learner has a unique way of understanding and engaging with mathematics.

For students who are aiming to strengthen their overall understanding of mathematical concepts, I adopt a structured yet flexible approach. During our lessons, I take notes live, ensuring that key ideas and methods are clearly explained and recorded for future reference. We then work through a range of past paper questions together, allowing students to apply what they’ve learned in a practical context.

If the student wishes, I can also provide homework assignments tailored to the areas we’ve covered. These tasks are designed to reinforce their understanding between lessons, and we review and mark them together in the following session. This encourages consistent progress and helps identify any topics that may need extra attention.

As exam season approaches, we spend time working through past papers under timed conditions, discussing strategies for approaching different types of questions, and refining exam techniques.

While achieving strong results is important, I believe that building a student’s confidence and developing a calm, methodical mindset are the true keys to excelling in exams.

For students who are already performing well and aspire to achieve top grades, lessons take on a more analytical and intensive focus. Together, we examine past paper questions in depth, identifying recurring patterns and common question types. This process not only strengthens their problem-solving skills but also helps them anticipate the kinds of challenges they may face in the actual exam.

As exams draw near, we complete full-length papers to simulate real testing conditions. Alongside academic preparation, I also provide practical advice and strategies for managing exam stress: helping students remain composed, focused, and confident on the day of their exam.
