According to educational theorists such as Howard Mandner; humans have multiple intelligences and several ways of processing information for example, whether it be visual, verbal, kinesthetic, auditory or read and write. This is vital to know as a teacher, I will start by getting to know how the student gathers information more effectively and efficiently. Then I will begin to use the correct and best methodology for the student.
To be a critical thinker we must be open-minded, engage in problem-solving comprehensions by analysing, reasoning and evaluating our reasons behind answers when writing in English. In order to communicate clearly and accurately we must make real-world applications which is done through project-based learning. I believe that engaging in visual diagrams and expressing through mind maps is very effective as it allows you to see the bigger picture and that English is more than just a language! Constructivism is crucial for consolidate on previous information we have learnt. I will try my best to make the lessons as fun as possible whether it be 1:1 or giving group lessons- we will all be cooperative and engage in fun tasks, allowing students to learn, apply and appreciate English. I will teach them how important English is in the world and the popularity of the language. I will do this by reading to them and so they can gain their confidence by reading back to me. I will allow them to engage in writing tasks to develop their knowledge!
