My lessons are easy to follow and engaging. As a 1:1 tutor, my first task is to assess a learner's knowledge and learning preferences. Once a baseline is established, all my lessons are tailor made to support the learner's needs and address any gaps. These lessons are delivered via a powerpoint to the pupil.
The lessons include a starting 'hook' activity, followed by the main teaching which includes questions, and practice tasks. These tasks are tools of live assessments, that allow me to adapt the teaching and learning immediately to address gaps, and ensure maximum progress and student engagement. The lesson concludes with a review and if good progress is made brief pre-teaching of the next topic.
Each lesson will require the learner to complete an independent next step homework task, to ensure that they have consolidated their learning. In the follow up lesson, this task will be reviewed and any challenges addressed and further questions answered. I will also challenge all learners with differentiated problem solving and critical reasoning tasks which are subject appropriate.
My teaching and learning practice is focused on creating a safe and enthusiastic learning environment, in which children are confident to express themselves and share their ideas and knowledge.
Learning is a life long journey, the enjoyment of it starts in primary school. I hope to support your child's learning success in these early academic years of discovery which are so rewarding.
