Learn Japanese with a Friendly, Experienced Native Tutor!

Konnichiwa! I'm a qualified native Japanese tutor with over five years of teaching experience and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language.

I offer engaging, conversation-focused lessons for adult learners of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced students.

My lessons are tailored to your individual needs, interests and learning goals. Whether you're learning Japanese for travel, work, personal interest or simply to enjoy speaking the language, I'll help you build confidence and communicate naturally.

I believe learning a language should be enjoyable, interactive and rewarding. My lessons combine practical conversation, useful vocabulary, grammar and insights into Japanese culture, creating a relaxed and supportive learning environment.

What can you expect from my lessons?

Plenty of speaking practice: From the very first lesson, you'll be encouraged to use Japanese in realistic situations, such as ordering food, travelling, shopping or chatting with friends.

Personalised learning: Every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching methods, materials and pace to suit your needs and interests.

Interactive activities: I use role-plays, games, quizzes and a variety of learning resources to keep lessons lively and engaging.

Clear explanations: Grammar and vocabulary are introduced in a practical, easy-to-understand way, helping you use what you've learned with confidence.

Supportive atmosphere: Making mistakes is a natural part of learning! I aim to create a friendly environment where you feel comfortable speaking and asking questions.

I also have experience preparing students for JLPT, GCSE and A-Level Japanese examinations.

Whether you're starting from scratch, returning to Japanese after a break or looking to improve your fluency, I'll help you make steady progress while enjoying the learning process.

Lessons are available online or in person at my home.
