My lessons:
I always speak Spanish from the get go, I will only revert to English when clarifying a grammar point.
I create my own teaching materials, mostly on PowerPoint to allow students visual material and ensure to use vocabulary, grammar, activities and tasks that involve speaking, listening, reading and writing. I adapt my material to suit the student's level, needs and interests. I can teach one-to-one as well as to larger groups. After every lesson, a PDF form of the teaching resources is shared with the student so they can keep access to the materials they have covered.
My teaching background:
After 5 yeas working in localisation (in Spanish) and project management, I chose to start my language teaching experience by obtaining my CELTA qualification. I taught English to foreign students for over 2 years and decided to include a PCGE in Spanish and French so I could teach both at Secondary School level. I then taught Spanish, French and German for 3 years at a school in Maidstone, Kent. Since then I have tutored privately to adults and teenagers to help them gain confidence in speaking or to help them prepare better for their exam.
My style of teaching:
I use castillian (mainland) Spanish. My accent is not regional but standard (like the equivalent of the Queens English). I like to create a relaxed atmosphere, but I do push to get the student engaged and active from start to finish.
