Yuka Ihara

Hello! My name is Yuka, and I am a native Japanese speaker currently studying Psychology at Cardiff University.

I provide friendly and personalised one-to-one Japanese lessons tailored to each student’s goals, level, and learning style. I have previous experience teaching English to students in Japan, where I supported learners with reading, writing, speaking, and listening, so I understand how to adapt lessons to individual needs.

My lessons are suitable for complete beginners through to intermediate and advanced learners. We can focus on speaking and conversation practice, grammar explanations, reading and writing (Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji), pronunciation, and practical everyday Japanese expressions. I can also introduce Japanese culture to make learning more engaging and meaningful.

I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and building confidence. Lessons can be structured or casual depending on your preference.

Available for both face-to-face lessons in Cardiff and online lessons.
