My lessons are highly interactive and tailored to how each student learns best. I like to use visual tools such as mind maps, diagrams, and step-by-step breakdowns to connect ideas and make complex topics feel intuitive. I often encourage students to look at problems from different perspectives and come up with creative ways to remember key concepts, rather than just memorising facts.
Sessions usually begin with identifying what the student finds most challenging, followed by guided explanation, worked examples, and practice questions, with plenty of chances to ask questions along the way. I focus strongly on exam technique and understanding mark schemes, while also helping students build confidence in the subject. As a Biological Sciences undergraduate at a top UK university, I bring up-to-date subject knowledge and an enthusiastic, supportive approach to every lesson.
Outside of core content, I also help students build effective revision strategies, such as creating personalised summary sheets, active-recall exercises, and exam-planning techniques to reduce stress before assessments. I regularly check progress through quick quizzes or recap discussions and adapt future sessions based on what works best for the student. My goal is not only to improve grades, but also to help students become more independent learners who feel curious and confident when approaching challenging scientific topics. I also enjoy celebrating small improvements and milestones, keeping students motivated and engaged while tracking long-term progress toward their academic goals.
I aim to create a relaxed, encouraging environment where mistakes are seen as part of learning, and students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas, and challenging themselves academically without pressure or judgement.
