My lessons are clear, supportive, and tailored to each student’s level, goals, and learning style. I understand that many students find Maths difficult or stressful, so my aim is to make the subject feel more manageable, structured, and less intimidating. Whether a student needs help with homework, exam preparation, understanding class materials, or building stronger foundations, I adapt my lessons to what they need most.
I usually begin by identifying the student’s current level and the areas they find challenging. This helps me understand whether they need to review basic concepts, practise specific question types, or develop stronger problem solving skills. I then explain each topic step by step using simple language and clear examples. After that, we work through practice questions together, so the student can learn how to apply the method independently.
I do not just give students the answer. I help them understand the logic behind each step, so they can build confidence and solve similar problems on their own in the future. I also encourage students to ask questions freely, because I believe mistakes are an important part of learning. My lessons are patient, friendly, and focused on helping students feel comfortable while making steady progress.
I have a strong academic background in Mathematics and Business Analytics, and I have also worked as a Maths tutor at the University of Glasgow. This experience helped me understand how to explain mathematical ideas in a clear and approachable way. I know that students often struggle not because they are unable to do Maths, but because they have not yet found the explanation or method that works best for them.
For younger students, I focus on building confidence, improving basic skills, and developing good study habits. For older students, I can support more structured revision, past paper practice, exam techniques, and topic by topic improvement. I can help with areas such as algebra, functions, calculus, statistics, probability, and general problem solving.
My lesson format is flexible. Some students may prefer a relaxed lesson where we go through difficult topics slowly. Others may want a more exam focused session with timed questions and past paper practice. I am happy to adjust the pace and structure depending on the student’s needs.
My goal is not only to improve grades, but also to help students become more independent and confident learners. I want my students to leave each lesson with a clearer understanding of the topic, a better way to approach questions, and more confidence in their own ability.
