Wing Yan Wong

I studied BSc Economics and now completing MA Education, at University College London. I've always really enjoyed maths and was excited about learning different approaches to maths problems. I found my experiences as a secondary school maths teacher and maths tutor to be very enjoyable, especially being able to help the students reach the grades they need.

It is more than just teaching them the right answers, but making sure the students understand why that is the answer and can guide them there. I will help the students to break the questions down, and help them to see that all maths questions can be tackled easily with the right exam techniques. I also hope to help the students gain more confidence in facing their maths problems. I found that doing past papers to be a great way to practise as I'd be able to highlight in which areas I am struggling and look into that topic for revision.

The lessons must be planned in the way that best suits the way the student learns, to keep them engaged in the session, and help them understand the topics much better. It is always important to be practising questions in the session so that they are not just listening throughout, but also applying and learning from what has been covered.
