Hi, I’m Viv, I am a friendly, experienced Biology and Maths tutor with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Genetics, a degree in Applied Biology and A Levels in Biology and Maths. I have several years of experience working in the scientific and medical industry, enabling me to bring real-world knowledge into every lesson!

Tutoring experience:
? With over 70 students supported and 2000+ tutoring hours, I have extensive experience teaching both Biology and Maths (reviews available on other platforms).

I understand that doing well in a subject that just doesn’t “click” can feel really challenging. I provide friendly, relaxed lessons backed by methods to help you get your head around the subject and improve your exam technique. My goal is to help you build confidence, grasp and apply difficult concepts, and reach your full potential.

For my Biology students: I specialise in A Level Biology and AQA exam preparation, but I teach students from all exam boards and levels. Since biological principles are universal, my lessons focus on helping you truly understand the subject - not just memorise facts! Whether you're studying AQA, Edexcel, OCR, or GCSE Biology, I’ll make sure you feel confident and capable in every topic.

For my Maths students: sometimes it’s just one tricky topic that needs clearing up, and other times the whole subject can feel a bit much. That’s completely okay! You’re never too young or too old to boost your confidence in Maths and I provide lessons for those leading up to their GCSE's and for adult learners that might need a refresh for work. I get to know how you learn best, then break things down into simple, easy-to-follow steps, using examples and practice questions that suit your level. We can go at whatever pace you need, spending as long as you like on any topic until it really clicks.

I have a current Enhanced DBS check and am registered with the DBS Update Service.
