Vishakha Thakkar

I am a dedicated university student at Durham University with a strong academic background in English Literature, History, and Fine Art. I am passionate about helping students reach their full potential and aim to create a supportive, engaging, and stress-free learning environment. With qualifications in peer education and sports leadership, I am well-equipped to deliver structured, personalised lessons tailored to each student’s individual learning style.

Throughout my GCSEs and A Levels, I regularly volunteered to support younger students, an experience I found both rewarding and motivating. This has strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly and adapt my teaching methods to suit different needs. I specialise in English Literature and History, having achieved high grades at both GCSE and A Level, and I am confident in helping students develop strong essay-writing skills, critical thinking, and effective exam techniques.

As a tutor, I prioritise building confidence alongside academic ability, ensuring students feel comfortable asking questions and actively engaging in lessons. I understand that every student learns differently, so I take time to identify what works best for them, whether that’s structured practice, discussion-based learning, or breaking down difficult concepts step by step. I also focus on making lessons interactive and enjoyable, helping students stay motivated and develop a genuine interest in their subjects. My goal is not only to improve grades but to help students feel more confident and independent in their learning.
