Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in online Computer Science teaching opportunities, particularly within SEN or specialist education. With a strong background in both IT and teaching, alongside extensive experience supporting students with additional needs, I bring a combination of technical expertise, adaptability, and a highly student-focused approach.

I am currently Head of Computer Science at Red Balloon of the Air, where I independently lead and deliver the subject to students with special educational needs who are unable to access mainstream education. Over the past five years, I have developed and sustained the provision, creating structured, accessible lessons tailored to a wide range of learning needs.

A key part of my role has been supporting students who experience anxiety, disengagement, or barriers to traditional learning. This has translated naturally into an effective online teaching approach, with a focus on clarity, consistent structure, and carefully paced delivery. I break down complex topics into manageable steps, helping students build confidence and make steady progress.

I have supported students in achieving GCSE outcomes, including in accelerated timeframes, by creating clear learning pathways and reinforcing progress through achievable milestones. I have found that the logical and problem-solving nature of Computer Science is particularly well suited to SEN learners when delivered in a calm and structured way.

In addition to my teaching experience, I hold a Master’s degree in IT Security Management (Cybersecurity), along with multiple Microsoft and Cisco certifications. I have also trained IT professionals across the UK, both in person and remotely, strengthening my ability to deliver complex technical content clearly in an online setting.

As a physically disabled professional, I have a strong appreciation for the importance of accessible and flexible learning environments. I am highly comfortable working remotely and supporting students who benefit from learning outside a traditional classroom.

I am now seeking an opportunity to continue supporting students through online education, helping them develop confidence, skills, and meaningful future pathways through Computer Science.
