My lessons are interactive, personalised and focused on helping students genuinely understand the subject, rather than simply memorising information.
I begin by getting to know each student, identifying their strengths, areas for improvement and what they want to achieve. From there, I tailor each session to their individual needs and learning style.
A typical lesson may include:
* A short recap of previous learning to reinforce knowledge.
* Clear explanations of new concepts, broken down into simple, manageable steps.
* Visual learning resources, including diagrams, mind maps, examples and structured notes.
* Real-world examples to make Business and Economics relevant and easier to understand.
* Interactive questioning and discussion to encourage students to think critically and explain ideas in their own words.
* Exam-style questions and past-paper practice, with detailed guidance on how to structure high-quality answers.
* Exam technique and feedback, helping students understand exactly what examiners are looking for and how to maximise their marks.
* A final recap and clear targets so students know what they have achieved and what they should work on next.
I have 11 years of tutoring experience and 6 years of classroom teaching experience, working with students from Grade 7 through to A-Level across UK, South African and Cambridge curricula. I also have extensive experience supporting SEND students and adapting lessons to different learning needs.
I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their confidence. I believe students learn best when they are actively involved in the lesson, so I encourage discussion, questioning and independent thinking.
Whether a student needs help catching up, wants to improve their exam technique, or is aiming for the highest grades, I adapt my lessons to help them make progress, build confidence and enjoy learning.
