I always begin with a check about current understanding and coverage of course content before asking the student whether they have a preference to work on knowledge and understanding, exam skills or academic writing for humanities. I can align the sessions with the specifications for a variety of exam boards including Edexcel, OCR and AQA. I am also an experienced IB Diploma teacher and tutor so can provide support and guidance across subjects including Theory of Knowledge.

I provide and utilise digital worksheets personalised for the student to ensure they have a takeaway from each session, and use ed tech resources such as G Suite or Teams to give feedback on work completed.

For the humanities and social sciences that I teach, I spend time with students on academic reading and source content at an appropriate level to enable students to broaden their knowledge of the subject and the specific topics they are learning. For example, in History I will teach source and historical interpretation analysis skills that align with skills required by the exam boards for GCSE and A-Level

I am adept at giving formative and summative feedback as we progress through a scheme of work or curricula, and teach a mixture of content and exam skills, ensure there is enough repetition to embed these skills in preparation for exams.

I can support with coursework for History A-Level and IB Diploma History and Global Politics. I can also provide support and structural guidance for IB Diploma Extended Essays in Group 3 subjects.
