What My Lessons Are Like
My lessons are relaxed, engaging, and built around what you want to achieve. What My Lessons Are Like
My lessons are relaxed, engaging, and built around what you want to achieve. Whether you’re working on writing, speaking, preparing for university, or just trying to feel more confident, I’ll tailor each session to suit your goals and learning style. I believe learning should feel like a conversation, an exchange of knowledge, and not a lecture.
In our first session, we’ll have a chat to figure out where you’re at and where you’d like to go. From there, I design lessons that are practical, interactive, and (hopefully) fun, children-friendly if needed. I usually start with a quick warm-up of your scales to get your hands ready for learning songs. I always make space for questions and feedback, and I’ll give you clear tips to improve along the way.
I’ve worked with students from all kinds of backgrounds, including children with different attention spans, learning paces and styles.
Most of all, I want you to leave each lesson feeling more confident and capable than when you started. Some students want to learn classical pieces, others prefer pop or film music, and some just want to play for themselves. Whatever your goal, I’ll design lessons that suit your taste and ability. I always aim to create a supportive environment where you feel encouraged, not judged. I believe music should be expressive and personal, not just about hitting the right notes.
My teaching is based on the ABRSM curriculum but I am open to learning other form of music curriculum.
