I use the test, teach, test method.

(So at the start of the class, i introduce the lesson with a relatable matter in real life in a way that catches students attention..

Then i give questions or a task to test their understanding in that area we have to cover.

Then i teach the task, and give additional details within the area of study.

And then i will proceed to give a new task on the lesson to test their understanding after the teaching.

And then we will have an activity on the lesson that might involve alot of speaking just to improve their skill..

I also keep my lessons student centred and try to make my students present and active. I ask CCQs (concept checking questions) instead of saying things like “have you understood?”

Target sentence: “I’ve lived here for 5 years.”
CCQs:
“Am I still living here?” (Yes)
“Did I start living here 5 years ago?” (Yes)
“Is it finished?” (No)

And also use of ICQs ( instruction checking questions)
Instruction Checking Questions (ICQs) — used to check if learners understand the task instructions (not language meaning).
Example: “Are you working alone or in pairs?”
