Dear Students,
Do you like Spanish songs, food, and culture? Would you like to travel to Spain or South America? Or maybe you want to focus on your GCSE exams. Whatever your reason, come and learn with me "La profe Vale".
I provide students with tools to use the Spanish language in real-life conversations. For this, during my lessons, I will provide a sentence builder and a lot of fun and engaging activities to practice sentences. I aim to make students feel successful and encourage them to talk, although I like practising other skills like listening and writing.
My teaching philosophy fits perfectly into the MARS-EARS approach. This method comes under the umbrella of communicative language teaching, according to which language education should serve to fulfil real-world communication tasks rather than focus on teaching single words outside of any meaningful context (Conti, 2018). One of the key elements of this method is the sentence builder, which is made of specific chunks of language. Teaching chunks has several advantages, like facilitating processing and reducing cognitive load on working memory.
