In the initial lesson, I will conduct an assessment to evaluate the individual's current abilities and identify areas of confusion. This will involve age-appropriate, curriculum-aligned questions. As part of the assessment, I will also observe factors such as eye kinetics and potential learning difficulties that may be affecting the learner's academic performance. These insights will inform a tailored lesson plan moving forward.
When working one-on-one, I incorporate a variety of teaching methods and media to suit the learner’s needs, including the use of educational games to support information retention. Recognising that mathematics often induces significant anxiety, my goal is to create a supportive learning environment that reduces stress, clarifies concepts, reinforces learning, and ultimately helps the learner achieve their full potential.
