My lessons take a highly student-centred and adaptive approach to teaching, ensuring that each lesson is carefully tailored to the individual’s specific needs. I begin by identifying the areas the student struggles with most, by observing and asking the student, whether that is a lack of understanding, confidence, or exam technique, and then structure my lessons to directly target and improve those weaknesses. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all method, I adjust my teaching style to suit how the student learns best, using clear explanations, step-by-step breakdowns, and a range of examples to make complex ideas more accessible. I also incorporate regular practice and active recall to reinforce learning and track progress over time. In addition to creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as I believe this is essential for genuine learning. As a tutor who had already had experience working in Kumon, I believe tailoring to a student’s needs is essential in a sense, to help them become more confident in whatever they are struggling with.
