I have taught my younger siblings in the past when they missed large parts of the school year due to illness and I continued to teach them in order for them to excel in their education. I taught them GCSE level maths. I usually start by asking the student what they want to learn, I then give them a lesson on what the topic they are learning about consists of in a way where which engages the student so they know I am listening to what they are saying, then I test them on what they have learned by creating my own practise questions or exam questions and have them answer it. If they don't understand I am willing to help them whenever they need me and will explain to them what they have to do if they are struggling to understand. I prefer a relaxed type of tutoring so the students don't feel intimidated by the subject, students are more productive if they aren't scared into learning something new. At the end of the session I like to recap what we have learned today and ask some questions to the student about the lesson and how they found it. The parents are also welcome to talk to me about their child's progress and any queries they may also have. I have also been helping some university students with their maths problems even though GCSE level would be my area of expertise. Looking forward to making maths enjoyable for you.
