My lessons are fully personalised and built around the specific requirements of each student’s curriculum, current ability, and academic goals. At the start of our work together, I carry out a short diagnostic assessment to identify strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in understanding. This allows me to design a clear, structured learning plan with measurable targets, rather than relying on generic worksheets or one-size-fits-all teaching.
Each session follows a consistent and effective format. We begin by reviewing key concepts from previous lessons and addressing any difficulties the student encountered in homework or schoolwork. I then introduce new material in a clear, step-by-step way, using worked examples to demonstrate both the method and the underlying reasoning. Students are encouraged to explain their thinking throughout, so I can identify and correct misconceptions early.
A major focus of my teaching is exam performance. I integrate past paper questions into every lesson, training students to recognise common question types, structure their answers efficiently, and manage their time under exam conditions. This develops both subject mastery and the confidence needed to perform in high-pressure assessments.
Outside of lessons, I provide tailored practice sets and concise summary notes that reinforce what we have covered. I also track progress over time, adjusting the learning plan as the student improves or as school assessments approach.
I have tutored over 15 students across GCSE and A-Level, with all achieving top grades and securing places at their first-choice universities. My aim is not only to improve results, but to help students develop disciplined study habits and a strong, transferable understanding of their subjects.
