I have worked as an English as a Second Language ambassador on a number of courses in Spain where I have helped Spanish business people with everyday English conversational skills.

For a number of years I have also worked as a languages teaching assistant in various local senior schools in Cornwall and during this time I have helped out in the classroom environment by working with groups of students, or on a 1 to 1 basis as required to help students fulfil their promise within their GCSE studies. Primarily this has involved working with students to consolidate their knowledge of the GCSE syllabus via working through past papers and helping with oral exam question technique and practice.

I can tailor my lessons to suit your personal learning style. I like to use flashcards, memory games, revision guides, and will try any other means of format which you feel comfortably works for you.

The main aim is to consolidate what you already know and develop your knowledge so that it will help you achieve your potential during your exams. My ethos is work well on revising what you already know the closer to the exam you get, and not worry too much about revising areas which you are finding hard to remember. Simple is best primarily and any extra words, phrases you can learn are a bonus and will potentially improve your grades.

I will follow the format of your curriculum and ensure that I have the up to date syllabus to guide you through your revision needs.

I have two grown up sons aged 30 and 32 years old and whilst they were studying their French GCSEs (which they had to do as it was part of the curriculum at their International School in Malaysia) I helped them immensely with their revision plans and my ethos of practice, practice, practice, helped them both achieve a fair grade. Neither were keen linguists, but with my 'help', they succeeded in their exams.
