Even though I am new to the world of teaching, I already have an idea on how our lessons will be structured and how they will be carried out. Firstly, I will see what your general level is in Italian, and then our first few lessons will focus on the basics of the beautiful language which will include learning the alphabet and pronunciation, which to me the pronunciation especially when speaking Italian is key as it is a very emotive language and will make you feel more comfortable practicing it with perhaps other Italian speakers. I would then teach you the main greetings and "essential phrases" such as: ciao, come stai?, mi chiamo…, per favore and grazie. Once this is completed I will move on to the more challenging part of the language, its essential grammar. I really like to structure my lessons based on themes such as family, food and travelling for instance. I will then make sure to include and prioritise speaking and listening as it is, once again, another essential part of learning Italian. I will also make sure to include learning about the Italian culture (food, festivities, traditions) which will help you massively understand better the language and why it is the way it is. I have also noticed that by including games in my lessons, students feel that they learn more effectively as they are games that are very engaging and fun to play. Games, I believe are extremely important when teaching as you will learn the language but at the same time you will enjoy doing it, as I know that learning languages such as Italian can be extremely challenging, especially for British people.
