Having previously taught whilst in School, the most effective manner through which I have been able to achieve advancement in Spanish is be speaking solely in Spanish during lessons. Whilst the lessons can have a focus on specific vocabulary or verb structures, the essence of most lessons would be to take an everyday opinion or interest and expand their understanding and knowledge within that area. The lessons will cater to the personal preferences of the student but, the manner that I see most progress is to launch students into complex structures and language to pose a new challenge and truly improve their fluidity in Spanish. For student of GCSE, I tend to follow a structure revolving around their examinations, taking a picture and developing on that, which mimics how their examination work. For A-Level, given that there is the advancement into a book and film, this expands the field of literature and complex language which can be touched during the lessons. Whilst important to prepare for the A-Level examination, it is also important to develop their fluidity not solely their ability to memorise content. Moving onto adult students, depending on the interest and aim of the student, we can purse more complex topics and develop into the Spanish culture and political fields in order to truly reach a level of fluidity of a native. I follow my general lesson plans however I cater to the needs of the students and any last minute interests or needs can be addressed in the lessons.
