Tom Haynes

Hi! I'm Tom, a Biology tutor with a degree in Marine Biology with hands-on experience in scientific research, data analysis and ecological fieldwork. I am opening tuition classes for primary, secondary and GCSE Biology with a goal to make science clear, engaging and genuinely enjoyable for every student that I work with.

My lessons are structured, supportive and tailored to each learner's needs. I start by working with the student to identify the specific areas that they are struggling with, wether thats curriculum areas like cell biology, helping them in their exam technique or just building their confidence. From there I will design lessons that break down complicated ideas into simple, fun and easy to understand lessons using real world examples and mini-quizzes to check understanding.

Each session will include quick recall checks and short practice tasks to reinforce learning and track progress on a lesson by lesson basis. These shouldn't be stressful but instead help the student to build their condicence along with helping me identify areas that may need revisiting.

I also provide structured notes and clear summaries of each session so that the student can know exactly what has already been covered, and what will be covered in oncoming sessions.

Everyone learns differently, so I adapt my eaching style to suit them - whether they prefer visual learning, hands-on examples, guided practice or exam technique focused revision. As long as I have created an encouraging environment, i'm condident students will feel comfortable asking questions when they are unsure, and also be proud of the progress they are making.
