A typical GCSE Spanish tutoring session with me is structured, engaging, and completely tailored to the student’s needs. Each session begins with a short warm-up to build confidence, usually a quick speaking or listening activity based on GCSE themes such as school, family, holidays, or future plans. This helps students get comfortable using Spanish actively rather than just memorising it.
We then focus on a clear learning objective, whether that’s mastering a tricky grammar point like tenses or opinions, improving exam-style writing, or boosting listening and reading skills. I explain concepts simply and clearly, breaking them down step by step and using examples that match the GCSE mark schemes, so students know exactly how to gain marks.
A key part of every session is active practice. Students apply what they’ve learned through guided exercises, speaking tasks, or short exam questions, with constant feedback to correct mistakes and build accuracy. I also share useful vocabulary, structures, and “exam hacks” that help students stand out and write more confidently.
Towards the end of the session, we review progress and revisit any weak areas to ensure everything is fully understood. I always finish by setting personalised revision tips or short tasks to reinforce learning between sessions.
My goal is not just to help students improve their grades, but to build real confidence in Spanish, so they feel calm, prepared, and capable going into their GCSE exams.
