Hello! My name is Tom, and I’m a tutor with a strong academic background and a passion for languages and politics. I graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Edinburgh in Arabic and Spanish, where I was awarded Distinctions in both Spoken Arabic and Spoken Spanish, and subsequently studied MSc Modern Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Oxford. Over the past two years, I’ve tutored Spanish and Arabic at levels ranging from GCSE to undergraduate, helping students build confidence, improve fluency, and develop a deeper understanding of the specifics of language, including reading, writing and grammar, and politics and culture of the Arabic- and Spanish-speaking worlds. I offer assistance in subject-specific university applications. I take pride in tailoring my lessons to each student’s needs, combining academic rigour with an engaging and supportive approach to learning.
I am currently offering classes online. I am very adaptable when it comes to teaching methods; I am happy to use my own resources, existing textbooks or look directly at your work - I want to ensure the correct approach depending on your exact needs.
