How I teach:
I draw on my own experience as a student; the habits and techniques that allowed me to achieve consistent top-level results (A*A*AAA in Maths, Physics, Further maths, Chemistry and English (AS) A levels, and a first-class in every exam through my Aerospace Engineering degree at the University of Bristol); and adapt them to how students learn best, not how a textbook says they should...
How I teach:
I draw on my own experience as a student; the habits and techniques that allowed me to achieve consistent top-level results (A*A*AAA in Maths, Physics, Further maths, Chemistry and English (AS) A levels, and a first-class in every exam through my Aerospace Engineering degree at the University of Bristol); and adapt them to how students learn best, not how a textbook says they should.
Teaching Principles:
There are two main components that I believe lead to enriching, useful tutoring; the first of these being an approachable, more 'informal' environment. Allowing students the space to find their own best methods of learning and communicate working-methods freely, prevents a stifling of motivation and separates these sessions from a school environment that i find often does the opposite.
Secondly, I believe the compounding of knowledge through doing is the key backbone to all successful tutoring. Theory only sticks once you've used it, and every session is built around working through real problems together, building each new idea on the last, so you leave each lesson having actually done the thing, not just heard about it. This gives students the validation and encouragement from employing the content they are learning, building confidence with each new question answered correctly. Remember, understand it well enough to do it yourself, and the grades come naturally!
Experience:
I have experience tutoring in Mathematics and Physics from ages year 9 to Alevel as well as English Lanugage and English Literature GCSE.
I look forward to helping you reach your goals in any of these subjects, thankyou for reading my presentation :)
