I made sure that the class objective is achieved at the end of the session, sometimes if needed I will assign additional exercises if the student has time, but generally I find that school work is sufficient.
I work closely with the school curriculum and class contents, ensuring that I am not confusing the student and staying on relevant topics.
An example of my teaching style: I had a student confused about degrees in circles, and found a way to help them visualise it by making the student spin on their chair and associate that with different degrees. This helped them tremendously and they finally understood the concept.
I have taught French and Mathematics (in English and in French) for 3 years. I helped a student go from failing Maths to gaining confidence and achieving 90% on her end of term exams.
