I adapt each of my tutoring sessions to the individual focus areas, strengths and weaknesses of every student. Having recently completed GCSE Spanish and achieved a Grade 9, I understand first-hand what it takes to reach the grade you are aiming for. I know the challenges students face when preparing for their exams, and I can share practical strategies that helped me maximise my own marks.

I have an AQA GCSE Spanish specialism and a strong understanding of each paper, including the specific requirements of the AQA mark schemes. I can help students understand exactly what examiners are looking for and how to approach each question effectively, whether that is developing stronger speaking answers, improving writing technique, building listening and reading skills or preparing for translation. My sessions will focus not only on knowing the Spanish, but on knowing how to use it successfully in an exam.

Having experience with the International Polyglot Youth Commission has also given me an international perspective on language learning and experience teaching languages to students from different backgrounds. I understand that students learn in different ways, so I aim to create sessions that are engaging, supportive and tailored to the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

My teaching methods will mainly involve speaking, active practice and genuine feedback between myself and my students. I want to make sure that the skills being taught are actually improving the student's performance before moving on to another topic, task or exam paper. I will identify areas for improvement, explain how to address them and then give students opportunities to immediately put that advice into practice.

Having experience in mentoring and supporting younger students, I also understand the importance of building confidence alongside academic ability. Spanish can become much easier when students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. My aim is to create a positive environment where students can ask questions, practise without pressure and gradually become more independent in their learning.

Whether a student is aiming for a Grade 9, trying to move up several grades or simply wants to feel more confident in Spanish, I will tailor each session around their personal goals and help them make measurable progress towards the grade they desire.
