In my private tutoring sessions, I use a clear plan that fits the student’s needs. Each lesson is sixty minutes. I start with a short review of the last session or homework. This helps me see what the student remembers and what needs more practice. After that, I introduce the new topic in a simple way, using examples and clear steps. I explain the idea, show how to solve a problem, and make sure the student follows each step. Next, we do guided practice together. I let the student try problems with my support, and I ask questions to check their understanding. If they make a mistake, we correct it right away. When the student is ready, they move on to independent practice. At this stage, they solve problems on their own while I observe. I step in only if they get stuck. This gives the student a chance to build confidence and use the skill without help. At the end of the lesson, we take a few minutes to go over what was learned. The student explains the main idea in their own words, and we talk about what went well and what needs more focus. I then assign a short homework task to reinforce the lesson and prepare for the next session. This plan keeps the lesson simple, clear, and focused on progress. It helps the student practice, understand, and grow step by step.
