My lessons are quite simple. I begin by teaching the mathematical concept. This would involve me working through examples to demonstrate how it's done. Next, I work through more examples, this time with you to enrich your understanding. And then to practise, you'd work through examples on your own using practise questions I provide. At the end, I would then go through your work to iron out any mistakes and answer any questions. Finally, to solidify your understanding, I would give you a small amount of homework for further practise.
I prefer more informal dynamics in my lesson. I don't want there to be an awkward atmosphere going on, after all I'm not that much older than you :). It'd be more fun if things were easy going and I'm pretty chill so things like asking questions can be done without feeling nervous. I know I'd feel nervous with my tutors in the past!
To be honest, the only experience I've had with tutoring is with a GCSE student in my school a couple years ago. It was part of a school programme for sixth formers. Even though that was my only time ever tutoring someone, I still feel like I learned a lot in the process. I also feel as though my structure that I'd follow in my lessons were good. But of course, I am more than happy to change things up depending on your needs.
So to sum up, if I'm your tutor, things will be chill and hopefully effective for you!
