I let my student get comfortable with me and tell all the confusions he/she has in his/her mind so that I can know where is the lacking. Once I get to that point I make all his/her concepts clear and then I start to teach him/her further. I never proceed to the next topic unless and until his/her concept get clear about the previous one. Quizzes and tests with tricky questions, I always take when the whole topic is covered so that if any confusion remains in his/her mind I get to know and the child gets the topic on his/her finger tips.
