Hi! I’m a dedicated GCSE Private English tutor passionate about helping students unlock their confidence in both Language and Literature.

In my lessons, the focus is always on clarity, strategy, and practical skills. Each session is tailored to the individual — whether you’re aiming for a grade boost, struggling with exam timing, or finding essay writing overwhelming, I’ll adapt the lesson to suit your pace and goals.

Typically, lessons start with a brief check-in to see what you’re finding tricky. We’ll then focus on one or two key skills — like structuring high-grade essays, analysing texts effectively, tackling tricky Language paper questions, or perfecting those comparison answers. I break down mark schemes into simple, student-friendly steps so you know exactly how to pick up marks in an exam.

Expect lots of interactive practice, model answers, quick quizzes, and step-by-step walkthroughs of exam papers. I also share top examiner tips and memory hacks to make revision more manageable that I had personally used in my own GCSE English exams.

I’ve worked with a range of students through previous private tutoring sessions — from those aiming for a secure pass to those chasing grade 8s and 9s — and I understand how daunting English exams can feel. My aim is to make it less stressful and far more achievable by turning complex tasks into clear, repeatable methods. Not to mention the overwhelming methods like PEEL and PETAL but I have a simple and more effective yet generic hack that you can use to gain more marks.
