My teaching follows the "I do, We do, You do" approach, which enables pupils to develop confidence and independence in their learning. Lessons begin with clear teacher modelling, where I explicitly demonstrate new concepts and strategies using worked examples and verbal explanations. This allows pupils to understand the learning objective and see the thought processes required for success.
Following this, we move into the guided practice stage, where pupils and I work through examples together. This provides opportunities for questioning, discussion, and immediate feedback, ensuring misconceptions are addressed before pupils work independently.
The final stage is independent practice, where pupils apply their learning on their own. This enables me to assess understanding, identify any remaining gaps in knowledge, and determine whether further support or reteaching is needed. If pupils demonstrate secure understanding, we can confidently move on to the next step in their learning. This structured approach ensures that all pupils are supported, challenged, and able to make progress.
