I am a qualified and experienced Maths Teacher, currently working as head of Maths. I have experience working as an examiner and have access to thousands of resources. I provide focused, supportive Maths tuition designed to help students build confidence, close knowledge gaps and make measurable progress.
My group sessions are kept small, with a maximum of 5 students, so every student receives individual attention while also benefiting from the motivation and interaction of learning alongside others.
Before starting, students complete a baseline assessment which allows me to identify their strengths, gaps and priority areas. I use this information to ensure lessons are targeted rather than following a generic programme. This means students spend more time working on the topics and skills that will have the greatest impact on their progress.
Each session is 1 hour long and combines clear teacher explanation, worked examples, guided practice and independent exam-style questions. I regularly check understanding throughout the lesson and adapt the level of challenge depending on how students are progressing.
My teaching focuses not only on getting the correct answer, but on helping students understand the Maths behind it and develop effective methods they can confidently apply independently.
Students receive regular assessment, feedback and targeted practice, allowing progress to be monitored and future lessons to be adapted accordingly. I also focus heavily on exam technique, common mistakes and showing students how to maximise marks in assessments.
My aim is to create a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their confidence in Maths. Whether a student needs to catch up, secure a target grade or push towards the highest grades, sessions are structured around helping them achieve their individual goals.
