My lesson plans will include starter activities to help build your base knowledge on general topics and then have a solid main focus on a specific topic which we will then further develop with exam questions in order to help you prepare for any exams needed and achieve better than your best. I will often use interactive presentations, worksheets and games so that you can properly engage with the content and understand it fully. I will also be setting homework which I will let you mark yourself in order for you to see where you’ve gone wrong but then also double mark it myself so I can see not only where you’re going wrong, but also where you think you’re at when you mark your work yourself. I will consistently focus on exam questions and exam technique and not just towards exams because I believe consistency is key - which is why your homework will also be exam style based. In the lessons as well, I would expect the student to be fully verbal so I can see them engage and their understanding as well as be able to explain that steps of reasoning and working out when we are looking at specific questions and not just give me a direct answer. Each student’s work will be different because everyone has their own individual needs and targets: this is something I’ve been doing my whole teaching experience for the past four years - whether it has been one to one focus or a more group based focus.
