My lessons are conversations, not lectures. I believe the best way to understand biology — whether at GCSE, A-level, or undergraduate level — is to connect it to something that already makes sense to you. I start every new student with a short chat about what they find confusing, what genuinely interests them, and how they learn best. From there, I shape each session entirely around the individual rather than a fixed format.

My background is in neuroscience and molecular biology. I completed my PhD at the University of Tokyo and have worked as a postdoctoral researcher in New York, with over a decade of experience translating complex scientific concepts for diverse audiences — from patients and clinicians to students and the general public. I've presented research at international conferences, written for scientific publications, and spent years in clinical communications, all of which has sharpened my ability to explain difficult material clearly and without unnecessary jargon.

In terms of format, I'm fully flexible. I use self-made visual layouts to illustrate processes and structures, and I draw on video references where seeing something in motion makes more sense than a static diagram. For students who prefer a more written or text-based approach, that works just as well. What matters most to me is finding what actually lands for you — some people think visually, others need to read and annotate, and most fall somewhere in between.

For exam-focused students, I concentrate on understanding the *why* behind a topic, which makes recall far more reliable than rote memorisation. I'm patient, adaptable, and genuinely enthusiastic about biology in all its complexity. Science should feel accessible — and I'd love to help make it so.
