Having tutored while at University, I developed an appreciation for language learning. The key thing I discovered was that everyone learns differently, and therefore I tailor my tutoring sessions both in terms of delivery and the teaching methods I use. What works for one person may not work for another, and I try to cater to this in my sessions. I believe that, in order to retain knowledge of a language, lessons must be engaging. I therefore use a variety of learning strategies in my teaching, ranging from diagrams and quizzes to activities and conversations. Frequent vocabulary tests are also a tool I use - they are a great way to permanently learn words! I hope to provide a tutoring service that is both informative and helpful, while in a positive and motivational environment. Learning another language is not easy, and we all get things wrong from time to time - it's part of the process. Therefore, in my tutoring sessions, students are encouraged to give it a go when answering questions; I hope to provide a supportive atmosphere in which we can all learn without the fear of getting things wrong!
