I've been a classroom music teacher for ten years, in London and the UAE. That's shown me both what a good school lesson can do and what most students rarely get in that setting: individual attention, a pace that actually fits how you learn, and a real feedback loop with the teacher.

Every student is different, so the first lesson is a conversation. I want to know what you want to play, where you are now, and what has and hasn't worked for you before. From there we build a lesson format around your goals.

Lessons can cover any combination of:

Exam specifications (Trinity, ABRSM, GCSE, A-Level)
Music theory and note reading
Performance skills and stagecraft
Composition and songwriting
Music production and music technology
Whatever else your goal actually needs

I'm a multi-instrumentalist and comfortable supporting woodwind, brass, strings and percussion. My own principal instrument is drums, and I hold a BMus in performance from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London. I've also taught A-Level Music Technology for many years, which means I can take you from first notes to producing your own tracks.

Practically, expect a warm room. I'm patient, I don't shame anyone for anything, and I don't waste time. Every lesson ends with something specific to work on before we meet again, so your practice time is spent on what will actually move you forward.
