I have six months of experience tutoring Maths and English at KS3 and KS4 levels, and this role has equipped me with a range of transferable skills. I plan to apply these to language tutoring by introducing structured sessions that include verb conjugation, translation practice, and spaced repetition. I understand that learning a language can feel overwhelming, but I believe consistency and motivation are key to progress.
Having used language-learning apps like Duolingo, Mondly, and Busuu, I’ve seen how regular practice can drive results—tools like these supported me in achieving a Grade 9 in GCSE Spanish and reaching a C1 (advanced) level. My teaching style is conversational and student-focused. I prioritise creating a comfortable pace tailored to each learner’s needs, ensuring they feel confident as they build fluency. I aim to make language learning engaging and achievable, even for those who may initially find it intimidating.
To keep each session engaging, I will incorporate a variety of interactive and entertaining activities. These may include watching short clips from Spanish-language shows, using creative techniques like pseudonyms to aid memory, and encouraging students to contribute their own ideas to each lesson. Rather than following a rigid structure, I aim for a natural, flexible flow that helps students become more familiar and comfortable with the language.
Between sessions, I will set short tasks such as listening to a specific Spanish song or reading a brief article, to reinforce learning and maintain steady progress.
My goal is to help every student feel confident in their ability to learn this amazing language—while also having fun along the way.
