Tamara Harris-Smith

I have been a full-time tutor since January 2023. Prior to that I worked in the formal education sector for 13+ years (and part-time tutor) and have experience working with young people from Reception to Year 13, with varying abilities and needs, in a range of settings (in class to online). As such, I have a developed a wide range of skills and resources that fascilitate my effectiveness as an educator.


My degree is in Ecology and Conservation and my Geography experience includes:
Whole class teaching - in school to GCSE and IGCSE: AQA, Edexcel and Cambridge
Small group booster/revision - in school to GCSE: AQA, Edexcel
Home-school teaching (F2F and online) - GCSE and A-level: AQA, Edexcel, IGCSE, International A-level, CCEA, Eduqas/WJEC, OCR
1:1 Support - in school and private tutor (F2F and online) to A Level: AQA, Edexcel, OCR, CCEA, International GCSE and A Level, Eduqas/WJEC
I am familiar with most of the exam boards used in the UK and follow the most up to date specification relevant to students exam date. Along side this I also have extensive experience teaching/tutoring Environmental Science (to A Level), Maths (to GCSE), English Language (to GCSE), Science (to KS3), and Functional Skills to Level 3 in English and Maths.


As a tutor (F2F/Online), I fascilitate learning and promote progress through ensuring criteria for Assessment Objectives are met, viz. developing/demonstrating/applying knowledge and Understanding. In addition, I support students with planning and organising, revision strategies and exam skill development. My Learning Plans are personalised and constantly updated to reflect the needs of the student. Independent Learning activities focus on skill development and reviewing learning.
