My higher education teaching experience spans the supervision and delivery of engineering education to apprentices and undergraduate students across universities and technical colleges. I have consistently provided industry-focused teaching that supports the development of skilled technicians, incorporated engineers, and chartered engineers. Supported by bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering, together with a higher education teaching qualification, I have delivered modules in CAD and Numerical Modelling, Engineering Mathematics, and Thermodynamics using blended and flipped-learning approaches. At Warwickshire Group University and College, these methods enhanced student engagement and strengthened analytical, design, and problem-solving skills aligned with industry expectations.
I have supervised complex individual and group design projects within the automotive, aerospace, power generation, and manufacturing sectors. A notable achievement involved leading Siemens Power Generation apprentices in the design and optimisation of a three-spool gas turbine using SolidWorks and GasTurb-13, including Brayton cycle and hydrogen–natural gas sensitivity analyses. The final design was selected by Siemens for manufacture, demonstrating the industrial relevance of my teaching and supervision. Additional projects supported organisations such as Doosan Power Generation and Dematic, including oil distribution systems for fractional distillation and robotic arm development for manufacturing applications.
During my PhD at the University of Warwick, I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in CAD, sustainable engineering design, thermofluids, and wind-tunnel laboratory instruction. I also contributed to NASA’s Mission Discovery Programme alongside astronaut Barbara Morgan, mentoring students in designing experiments for the International Space Station and promoting STEM engagement.
